Expresión en Corto is from July 24th to August 2 in the cities of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato Capital, Mexico. Free to the public, this international competition is the largest in Mexico, with films competing in a variety of categories that include: Short Fiction, Short Animation, Short Experimental, Short Documentary, Long Documentary and Mexican Feature Length Opera Prima (or feature length films by first-time Mexican directors).

The festival features an assortment of workshops, conferences, Women in Film and Television luncheons and National Tributes to both Mexican and International A-list filmmakers in attendance. Some of those honored include Spike Lee, Tim Burton, Oliver Stone, Deepa Mehta, Joaquin Cordero, Irvin Kershner, and Gaspar Noé

Expresión en Corto seeks to host another successful festival year, estimating an attendance of over 72,000 total audience members watching over 1,750 films from more than 80 participating countries in its international competition. Check out the schedule online.
