Upcoming Fests – Notting Hill, AFFD, plus more
July 6th, 2009
The Notting Hill Film Festival is the only British film festival which exclusively celebrates talent residing and working within the United Kingdom. In Kensington this year from July 10th through the 16th, Notting Hill offers an irreverent, fun-filled program that actively promotes British talent to an international audience.
The festival opens this year with Bananaz, a documentary which pulls the curtain on the collaborative music project Gorillaz, the most successful cartoon band in the world. Notting Hill continues with WMD. Shot entirely on covert surveillance and CCTV cameras, this feature film tells the story of an MI6 desk officer uncovering deliberate flaws in the case to invade Iraq. Finally, the festival features the UK premiere of London Tango, a documentary about the business, showmanship, excitement, glamor and hard work of the London dance scene.
Notting Hill Film Festival features a diverse and rich assortment of talent within the United Kingdom and seeks to introduce a new audience to the country’s varied and exuberant film base. View the Notting Hill online schedule.
