Upcoming fests – Connecticut, deadCENTER, plus more

June 1st, 2009

CT Film FestThis year’s sprawling Connecticut Film Festival is June 2-7. Not just related to film, the festival also includes portions dedicated to screenplay, music, and interactive media, with 138 films, 70 performances by emerging independent musical artists, 100 educational workshops, panels, round tables and keynote speakers, and over a dozen parties and industry networking events. In addition to the screenings, the “Writers Unblocked” Screenwriters Immersion Program allows screenwriters to experience the full path of the creative process, from casting agents and actors reading their scripts, to critiques and hands-on coaching in an intimate round table setting. Musicians will perform in 7 different locations around town. The brand new interactive section will focus on Web, Animation, Advocacy, Gaming and Free and Open Source Software in a non-consumerist mindset. The Connecticut Film Festival offers educational, informational, and networking opportunities for more media facets than any other film festival. Check out the online schedule.
